LANSING – State Representative Kate Ebli (D-Monroe) today announced that she has dramatically retooled her Web site, ebli.housedems.com, to be more user-friendly. The Web site is now fully accessible to people with disabilities. Ebli's legislative home page – a portal for news, district information and video public service announcements on issues important to residents of House District 56 – outlines her priorities, including attracting good-paying jobs of the 21st century global economy to Michigan, bringing more tourism dollars to our Great Lakes State, and fighting out-of-state and Canadian trash.
"One of my most important responsibilities as State Representative is to keep my constituents informed of what I am doing in Lansing to move Michigan forward, particularly through programs that create jobs and spur our economy," Ebli said. "At the same time, it is crucial for me to receive input from residents about the issues they are most concerned about. Through electronic newsletters and other cutting-edge technologies, my revamped Web site is another tool I will use to bring state government back where it belongs – to the people."
The new Web site is fully compliant with federal regulations requiring agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. The site also includes individualized homepages for each representative, detailed district maps, frequently asked questions regarding state government, links to citizens' guides, photos, audio, video and more.
The Web site contains details about recent Ebli legislative proposals to make Michigan a great place to live, work and raise a family – including her recent plan to stem the loss of dollars from the growing practice of illegally redeeming out-of-state cans in Michigan, which takes away crucial taxpayer dollars and jeopardizes jobs.
