LANSING – State Representative Kate Ebli (D-Monroe) today announced that the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has awarded the Monroe County Historical Commission a $7,300 grant and the Monroe County Library System a $10,800 grant.
"The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has acknowledged the value of the work done by the Monroe County Historical Commission and the Monroe County Library System," Ebli said. "These grants are another example of the fine work being done by our community groups."
The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs awarded a total of 252 grants in 49 counties.
"Through grants such as these, our community groups will be able to continue the valuable work they do every day to make Monroe County a great place to live, work and raise a family," Ebli said. "By supporting community groups, we make our communities more attractive – and that bolsters our local economy, creating jobs today."
